John and Maggie met way back in the last millennium and were friends for several years before they got married.  Together they have two daughters, two cats, one giant dog, a handful of chickens, and a few million honeybees.

John has a varied background in several fields from law enforcement officer to senior systems administrator, but his passion has always been creating and working with his hands. He loves digging into his beehives and taking on new and exciting woodworking projects.

Maggie has over two decades' experience in portrait and wedding photography, and she has fallen in love with all things homesteading and beekeeping. She puts those photography skills to use to document the many homesteading adventures her family is undertaking.
